Kiez Burn 2024 has a theme!!

Worry not - there will be none of that this year. We are become Very Serious Burners [almost awkward silence].
Any clownery, shenanigans, pranks, wordplays or foolery will receive appropriate punishment in the form of public shaming and rotten tomatoes.
If you see anyone laughing, report them to the Unordungsamt immediately!

Another piece of relevant news - tickets for Kiez Burn 2024 are already sold out. Ticket resales are taking place in a dedicated Discord channel.
EVENT UPDATES & DEADLINES
📆 Kiez Burn Program
Wanna submit a workshop, party, or other event? Midnight pancakes, spoon bending competitions, knitting marathons, magic rituals, science lectures, concerts, jams, cabarets, parades, or morning yoga - we want it all and we're ready to FOMO.
Submissions for the Kiez Burn Program are now open !🤸♀️🥁🤹♀️🥨
- If you are a camp with a workshop space: Register your event here until May 12th.
- If you want to bring a workshop but you are not part of a camp: Find a camp that could host your workshop and ask them if they have a space for you! If you can't find a space by the deadline or if your workshop does not require a dedicated space, you can use the Info-Point on site to gather your hippies or leave a written note once you have decided where it will take place.
(yup, we are doing bullet points now, that's how serious we are about fun)
🎒Survival Guide
How do I get to the Secret Forest? What do I need to bring with me? Are there any no-gos? And what are these "principles" everyone keeps bringing up as if this were a cult?
Don't panic, as is customary - except if you were at BUILD last year - we got you covered🌂:

✨ Open Roles
Another piece of great news: We have almost filled all lead roles!
[cheering loudly - yet seriously]
But additional help is always welcome:
→ We are looking for a water lead!
This year it will be a much easier role than it used to be - there are water connections everywhere, but someone should make sure showers are connected, communicate with camps about their closest water access, and make sure everything works smoothly. This role requires being there at BUILD.

🤹 Shifts
"Participate, don’t spectate – Kiez Burn happens only when you get involved. We are run exclusively by volunteers – that means YOU. Our community is committed to a radically participatory ethic. We believe that transformative change, whether in the individual or in society, can occur only through the medium of deeply personal participation. We achieve being through doing. In short: Take a shift and experience the best part of Kiez Burn - making friends while doing, learning cool burner stuff, messing with new arrivals, caring for other participants, or helping everyone leave no trace.

Important note: Welfare shifts require you to attend a training beforehand. Find more info and register here!
Please keep in mind that you need to already have a ticket to volunteer. There are no directed tickets or discounts for taking a shift - as there is no distinction between staff and participant at Kiez Burn. We are all gifting our time and energy to make it happen😉
🎪 Placement Updates
On April 19-21, SPARK took place and a big group of realizers and camp leads fought the freezing Branderburger Wetter in order to make sure that every camp can get a spot in our new location - the Secret Forest (thank you heroes!!🧡)
Here is a summary of the status:
- We're in the final stages of placing the 28 first camps
- Most space in the forest area of the map is taken
- Sound camps will be placed in the South West areas, plus a moderate sound zone in the North of the site
- Conversations are ongoing and a new round of placements for camps that registered later will open soon. If you've registered a camp, stay tuned as Kieze Facilitation will get in touch with you with the next steps, hopefully next week!

🚐 Vehicle Permits
Do you need to drive a vehicle past the Gate? Do you wanna be a royal and sleep in your cozy van close by your camp?
